SANTOS 40TH YEAR
Santos celebrates its 40th year in existence this year and it is hoped to contact as many ex players as possible to help celebrate. A committee has been set up in the 4 regions of the city to try to contact as many players as possible who have played at any level for Santos over 40 years from the first u-12 team in the Down and Connor League 1970 till the present time.
Many have been contacted already but we are hoping through these pages that many more will contact the organizers.
A series of "get togethers" will be held over June July and August culminating in a SANTOS Family Gala get together in Mid Sept at Crewe Pk Glenavy culminating with the "Greatest Santos Team Ever" selected from 1970 to date Some candidates for this prestigious honour are being sought.
From North Belfast
The Mullan brothers Sean Caldwell Jim Liddy Colin Lewis John Boyle the Donnelly brothers Paul mc Goldrick Dennis Hughes Paddy Bonds among others are sought.
From South Belfast
The O Keefe brothers the Mc Cormack brothers and cousins the Looney brothers Eammon Foster the Lonergans Joe Watson et al are all sought.
In West Belfast the Mc Dowells and Mc Donalds Stevie Mc Cartney Gerard Hegarty Mick Seenan Al Logan Kieran Megraw Phil Mc Neil Paddy O Donnell and Gerry Hegarty are all names that spring to mind.
The east of the city is well covered with an ex player who furnished a list of players from the East so if we could contact as many as possible. Of course there are huge number not mentioned here so if you played at all for Santos it would be excellent if you phoned the contacts who are
